About Us

Cody

My name is Cody, and I am the owner and lead dog walker for Fetchingly Fit. For the majority of my life I have been around dogs, ether having them as a part of my family, or working as a stranger in their yard each day as a meter reader for Atco gas. Going into yards with dogs was always my favorite part of the job, and on occasion would spend my breaks with my favorites! After working for a couple years I decided to go to University and study psychology. Early on I started to realize that many studies about human behavior were first tested on dogs and I became more interested in those aspects of behavior and learning. As a job between classes I started my dog walking company and started applying what I was learning in class to the dogs I was walking and started seeing some success. After a couple years I decided that I enjoyed working with dogs so much that I wanted to pursue it full time! I dropped out of university and started looking at how I could grow my knowledge of dogs and their behavior. With my basic psychology knowledge I started to look for places I could learn from that used methods that agreed what I had learned in University, and that actually used psychology words and concepts correctly. With this I founds the force free movement and dove right in!
Since starting Fetchingly Fit, I have completed the Pet First Aid and CPR certification course through Walks and Wags Pet First aid and have almost completed the dog trainer apprenticeship program at Dogma training and education.

Our mission

Here at fetchingly fit our number 1 goal so to give you and your pets the best possible treatment and experience as possible with Dog Walking or house sitting. A major part of that is for us as pet service professionals, we need to be constantly learning more about pets (especially dog behavior and communication); whether that’s through reading pet related articles and books, watching dog training videos, or spending time volunteering for other pet related organizations, we as a team are constantly working to make sure that we can provide the best experience possible for your pets. I (Cody) and currently looking into different options for training and educated to become a professional dog training, to both help me become a better dog walker, but possibly open up a training side of this company!

We are also a reasonably young company and we feel that there could be a lot of potential for growth, not only in our team, but in the company as a whole! As time goes on and Fetchingly Fit grows, we would like to grow in more than just people and pets that we serve, but also in the services that we are able to offer. Sometime down the road, we would like to be able to offer services such as Dog grooming, Dog training and maybe even pet taxi services may someday be in our future. We hope, in the future, to offer unique and innovative services . Once these things have been well established, we would like ideally expand into other cities, not only within Alberta, but Canada, or maybe even the world!!!

While we have some ambitious goals, our first priority is and will always be you and your pet, and no matter what opportunities we are presented with as time goes on, we will never lose sight of those priorities as they are the foundation to any expansion or new services that we can offer.
